A női csapat magját a fehérvári utánpótlásban nevelkedő lányok adják kiegészülve tehetséges, főváros környéki versenyzőkkel.
It is always intriguing to review a less know product. Be it a startup company or something unfamiliar to the masses. So my first attempt with Ornot was a terra incognita for me. Ornot is proud of its domestic manufacturing, made in the USA, in fact Ornot gear is designed in San Francisco. The same is true for supplied materials. This intention has been established form the get go back in 2013.
Its minimalistic design of its whole product range caught my eye immediately. Whereas striking designs are prevalent in the apparel industry, Ornot keeps is rather modest. Is it a good thing. That’s very personal, so hard to argue in this department. But that exactly works for me. For example the effort to omit disproportionate branding is omnipresent. That is exactly in line with my fashion policy. I rather value the performance than the self-advertisement of unsightly logos that are all over the place. The manufacturer says they made it their goal to change the landscape of cycling wear by offering well designed clothing while omitting excessive branding.
“You could be a rolling billboard, Ornot!”
I had the opportunity to test the House Bibs Shorts and Code Burgundy House Jersey. This combination merges race-ready ingredients but due to its cut and used materials it’s equally OK for long the epic rides in the saddle. I feared, the cut will sport a characteristic American fit, meaning generous in sizing. Hence I went for the smallest size available. Though it’s not an Italian race cut the House Bibs Shorts and Code Burgundy – House Jersey don’t lag behind way too much. In fact, nothing protrudes and lowers its aerodynamic efficiency. It is conveniently snug while not constricting. All in all, it falls definitely into performance fit category.
Ornot calls the House Bibs Shorts and Code Burgundy – House Jersey the workhorse of entire collection. In my experience, they are as good on road as off road. I had tested them in demanding gravel races in relentless weather. No sign of massive worn. Thus far, my rides in this kit didn’t exceed the 10 hour mark, but I can imagine, they would take the beating in a 24 hour race too – provided, additional buttock cream is applied – just in case.
The Cytech chamois is a middle ground feature wise: thin enough to prevent serious rubbing, however comfy enough for 5 + hour rides too. I haven’t discover any outstanding applied technology or contours that would make me pay more attention too. That said, it has to work unobtrusive in the first place. Chamois is a must though, should your ride exceed the 4 hour threshold – that’s my experience anyway.
The upper is made of wonderfully soft knit mesh. It is a fair balance between an aero position and upright position. The leg gripper keeps the bib in place, which is fortified by flat-lock seams. The latter is vital for a general comfort, just like the cliché goes: it feels like a second skin. The bib sports a 35 UPF sun protection, frankly though I am never wary of this facts like this. In my eyes the fundamental thing is an adequate sun cream.
The jerseys light weight is more than welcome. On my scale 112 grams by size S. It is not a mesh like material [just partially], but I haven’t missed that mash anyway, minus on some days these past weeks, where temperatures went way beyond 35-39 C. The most comfortable sensation is guaranteed in aero riding position. I assume, its contoured shape is purposefully designed to be worn this way. The rear pockets are elastic and sizable enough for the usual stuff, but most importantly keeps its from despite occasionally heavy loaded: like full stuffed with rain jackets, leg and arm warmers. It is sewn robustly enough so no concerns here.
As for the durability, I am happy to report that the kit kept its structure remarkably good despite plentiful washing and rainy/muddy rides. I’ll keep an eye on how they perform going forward. The Ornot House Bibs Shorts and Code Burgundy – House Jersey aren’t outstanding products with earth shaking technologies. I believe, it wasn’t Ornot’s intention anyway. What they meant to achieve, is – besides keeping the production ad material sourcing domestic – to create a kit with restrained design, sporting a reasonable quality. It is a welcome addition to the abundantly crowded market place. What I appreciate the most are attributes like well-done design, both in terms of appearance as well as general construction. The color scheme is chosen in a very measured way. Yes, a miniscule Ornot logo is still there but it is greatly embedded into the general scheme so that one really has to wonder: what brand is it anyway.
That may or may not to be preference of the buyer, so, again it comes down to personal preferences. Ornots product range and categories are growing gradually, thus it will be exciting to come to learn those products too in the near future.
Brand philosophy: Ornot is a cycling apparel company devoted to minimal design, domestic manufacturing, and having a good time on the bike. When we began in 2013, massive logos and team kits were the norm. We made it our goal to change the landscape by offering well designed cycling clothing while omitting excessive branding. -You could be a rolling billboard, Ornot
A 2013-ban alapított San Francisco-i cég a kerékpáros ruházat piacán a minimalista vonalat képviseli, a dizájn a „hivalkodó” jelzőtől a lehető legtávolabb áll, emellett nagyítóval kell keresni a márkajelzést.
A két tesztelt ruhadarab egyetlen kollekció része. Szerintem egyaránt viselhető országúton és terepen, a gyártó sem köti egyetlen kerékpározási stílushoz a „párost”. Erre is, arra is használtam, ráadásul több kemény gravel versenyt is látott.
A varrások lapítottak, tehát a nadrág kiváló kényelmet biztosít.
A kerékpáros viselet piacán nagy a konkurencia, tehát érdemes a potenciális vásárló igényeit a lehető legjobban, egyedi módon kiszolgálni.
A gyártó honlapján olvasható a következő mottó: “You could be a rolling billboard, Ornot!”, azaz lehetsz mozgó óriásplakát, vagy nem. Ez utóbbi a márkanév jelentése.
Beautiful, lightweight, stable, super-fast! I could just as well line up on a cyclocross world cup race start line riding it. On the other hand, it’s also my favorite vehicle of transport. I got this fantastic rig from the K2 Bicycle Store two years back, so it’s high time to give you a run-down on all the experience I gathered with the Scott Addict CX RC. This is the bike which accumulated the most kilometers in my stable; equally on asphalt, dirt and city streets; running in winter, summer, autumn and spring.
Scott Addict CX RC bike test
Let’s start with the theory behind this bike! Being a classic cyclocross bike, the Scott Addict CX RC is a special piece of equipment: it’s designed and made especially for cyclocross racing. As such, it should not be confused with the currently so trendy gravel bikes. The frame geometry of the Addict CX would be considered fast, agile and responsive even among the present crop of road bikes. The 54cm frame paired with a 140 mm head tube means it offers a sporty, low-down body position, and the weight of the Addict CX is only slightly higher than its road bike version, the Addict. The carbon frame construction is based on the road model variant, so it also offers sublime stability and frame stiffness. The 27.2 mm seat post size and the comfortable Syncros saddle are the only concession in terms of comfort, and of course it rolls on low-pressure 32-35 mm of rubber, which offers some extra cushioning.
As a comparison, a gravel bike has a completely different frame geometry and design goals. The two may look similar, but in essence they are completely different beasts: the now popular gravel bike offers more relaxed tube angles and longer wheelbase for extra stability even when it’s fully loaded with bags, hence it’s slower in turns. On the other hand, fast cornering is the essence of cyclocross. The gravel bike has provisions for extra-wide tires or transporting touring bags. So the modern gravel bike is not a descendant of the similar shaped and equipped cyclocross brethren, but one specially developed for bike touring and leisure riding. 10-20 years ago neither bikes could exist, since disc brakes and tubeless tires are their main features. This allows such a light bike to be ridden on dirt with great speed, efficiency and comfort. Thanks to the road drop handlebars, on paved roads both the cyclocross and the gravel bike can easily reach 40 km/h and offers the appropriate gearing for such speeds.
Harking back to the Scott Addict CX RC, it’s undoubtable a full-blooded cross racing machine. This is important information to the potential customer, since unlike gravel bikes, the focus of a race-oriented cyclocross is much narrower, and not many will ride many miles on cross courses. It has a sporty, aggressive frame geometry, the steering is agile, uncompromising. Yes, this also entails that the bike makes very little concession in drive efficiency, but at the expense comfort, which is especially apparent when it’s directly compared to a gravel bike. Riding the Addict CX RC, you often feel being on a road bike equipped with disc brakes and just enough space for slightly wider knobby tires. Otherwise your body position and riding comfort is very much like on the road bike. And since you are supposed to rove cyclocross courses, natural or build tracks, you don’t need a wide gear ratio, instead of 2×11 shifting a 42T single front chainring is sufficient. All in all, this bike is a wicked toy which will grow on you, just like a fierce sports car. Since you love riding it, you are inclined to try it on different terrain and situations, and this results in even more affection. So you’re down the rabbit hole… just like me. Initially the Addict CX RC was supposed to be my new cyclocross race bike, but later became my tour bike, my favorite urban “rocket ship”, and I kept trying in on all kinds of tough terrain to experience to joy of its nippy handling and outright quickness.
The cyclocross race bike:
In the previous two seasons I had the chance to take part in some races with the Addict CX RC. My fellow competitors often remarked that finally I have a dream bike under my legs, a machine that is far more advanced than what I’m capable on the race courses. And this is true. This bike has never been the weak link in the chain, it never prevented me from reaching my potential, finishing a race, not even in the toughest mud – and I never had a spare bike available. At Scott, they pay close attention to the smallest of details. Like the chain stays being shaped to cut through the accumulated mud in order to self-clean the rear end. The rest of the stays are flattened in the other plane to allow a small amount of vibration damping. Another brilliant detail is the factory-made chain-retainer, which guaranteed that my chain would never fall, no matter how bad the ride conditions. Not once in two years of riding and racing on all kinds of terrain! The SRAM Force shift system needs a little more attention than the Shimano equipment, it demands frequent maintenance, fine-tuning to keep it running smooth and reliable. On the other hand – despite the slender construction -, the disc brakes keep working flawlessly, I merely had to change the pads a few times. For cross I used a custom-built wheel tubular set instead of the factory wheels. There is nothing wrong with the original set, but a nice tubular tire provides a little extra grip and comfort. The complete bike is quite light, a monster in the corners, perfect in every sense when it comes to cross racing!

The gravel bike:
The road biker’s gravel bike is a cyclocross bike! If you love road bike frame geometry, you”ll certainly have an affection for the Addict CX RC when it comes to gravel and asphalt roads – or the combination of the two. This bike inspires to be ridden at higher tempo, it feels like a rocket on any terrain, especially on uphill sections. You can go much faster on it than riding a mountain bike. If ridden on mixed terrain, the Syncros RP 2.0 tubeless wheel set is a superb choice. The 35mm tires pumped to 2 bar or little harder will provide excellent traction, once filled with tire sealant fluid, the chance of getting a flat is quite slim.
On tarmac:
I also used the Scott Addict CX RC for longer bike touring and day trips, for which I usually installed Continental GP 4 Season tires in the 32mm width. This makes the bike super comfortable, yet it rolls just as fast as a proper road bike. I should mention that from 2019 all Scott Addict’s road bikes accept 32 mm tires, so one could now reach the same result from another direction. Thanks to its special frame geometry, the robust fork, and 12 mm through axes front and back, the Addict CX RC is significantly more stable than an average road bike on downhill sections. Not surprisingly, this bike is lightning-fast in the city, the fastest man-powered vehicle on the busy roads, while the hydraulic disc brakes and wide tires provide a clear advantage when it comes to safety.
Long-term use:
Beyond the inevitable subjectivity, we have some clear cut facts to report on. Despite the super-light frame construction manufactured from Scott’s premium (HMF) carbon fiber, the Addict CX RC has proven to be very durable. Obviously I’m not talking about the frame breaking or cracking, rather than all frame parts have withstood this long period of use: there is no sign of noise, creaking, and once polished, it looks almost new. This is a characteristic that only frames from premium manufacturers exhibit. The SRAM Force group also stood the test of time, it still performs well, and even the chainring shows limited wear after two years of riding. There was some inconvenience when the crank arm bolt loosened on two occasions, but I can’t recall any other problems. The tubeless compatible Syncros wheels also faired well the long term use, it proved to be quite robust, which is not surprising, since it could just as well bear a DT Swiss logo! Quality stuff, just as all the other components carrying the Syncros name: I found the handlebar and the saddle are especially comfortable.
Just as its predecessor with cantilever brakes, the new disc-equipped Addict is an enduring construction!
Alternative choices:
What other proof is there concerning the quality and performance of the Addict CX RC than the fact that it is still featured in the Scott lineup! Only the tires have been substituted in the specs – Continental rubber instead of the Schwalbe X-One CX Performance. Click here for more information about the Scott Addict CX RC!
If you are not approaching the world of off road and gravel as the road rider, Scott offers a more comfortable and better equipped bikes with 20-30mm longer head tube in the shape of the Speedster Gravel series.
It may also be interesting for many, that Scott has recently repositioned its Addict family of road bikes to the road endurance segment of the market. They feature longer head tube similar to the above-mentioned gravel series, can accommodate 32 mm wide tires, and disc brake versions are also available. (For performance-oriented road riders the Addict RC series provides the “rocket ship” experience.)
A junior Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne-n a lassú rajt alatt a hirtelen befékező versenyigazgató autójának ütköztek a versenyzők. Kis szünet után szerencsére mindenki folytatni tudta a versenyt.
Ritkán látni olyan balesetet, ami vasárnap a junior Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne-n történt, a versenyigazgató a lassú rajtnak megfelelően alacsony tempóban haladt a kerékpárosok előtt mikor hirtelen befékezett az autó.

As a heavy commuter myself, it is a welcome feature to combine elegance with functionality. Gonso too jumped on the bandwagon of functional commuter clothing combined with chic appearance. Obviously the latter attribute is a subjective thing, fact is however that Gonso’s attempt to keep the appearance restrained while providing a needed functionality is a successful one.
Gonso’s Bozen Bike Jeans is sporty enough even for longer commuting, such as those I have to do on daily basis. Even by covering routes that easily reaches 20 km mark, the jeans is equipped with enough clever details that facilitates the daily activity in the condensed traffic. Things like on/off function that folds out reflectors on the back pocket and waistband are another added values. Thus, it provides enhanced visibility. The reflectivity came in handy after those long office hours and riding home in darkness.
Provided the ride to the office is rather a gentle one, meaning no need to undress, the Bozen Bike Jeans can serve as a casual office apparel too.
The most outstanding feature for me, however is its comfy and remarkably stretchy material. It’s combined with a snug fit, which never feels itchy. The material mix of 77% cotton, 15% polyester, 8% elastane creates a measured blend of cozy feeling. Once fully soaked while riding in rainy weather, the jeans becomes heavy and its stretchiness loses its welcome attributes considerably.
As for the durability. Unless you [theoretically] wear it daily [total nonsense] and it is treated [washed] according to Gonso’s guidelines, the wear is only visible by way of slightly fading color on most stressed places. The stretch-ability seems to be the same though.
Good thing is additionally its adjustable leg width that keeps the road dirt and chain oil reasonable at bay.
For frequent commuters that are ok with keeping the same casual gear in the office and like the sporty feeling and appearance, Gonso’s Bozen Bike Jeans is more than just a good option.

Itt jön a képbe a sokak számára ismerősen csengő Gonso sportruházati márka kínálatában szereplő Bozen „Bike Jeans” kerékpáros farmer.
Az elegancia foka természetesen szubjektív, a hivatalos megjelenés sok esetben speciális ruhaigényt támaszt. Emellett a funkcionalitás mértéke is széles spektrumon mozoghat.
Emellett hosszabb bicajos utakra is vállalható, minden kerékpáros funkcióval rendelkezik, ráadásul kellően strapabíró a mindennapi használathoz. A siker kulcsa a rendkívüli rugalmas alapanyag.
A rugalmasság viszont változatlan maradt.
Érdemes kiemelni a nadrág speciális kerékpáros „funkcióit”.

Sajnos egyiküknek sem sikerült a bravúros szereplés, Szalontay 21., míg Lovassy Krisztián a 23. lett.
Március 2-án, szombaton a férfiak sprint futamait rendezték, ahol Szalontay Sándor révén voltunk érdekeltek. A kvalifikáció jól sikerült sprinterünknek, 9,854 másodperces idővel 16.-ként került be a legjobb 28-ba. A következő kör viszont már nem sikerült olyan jól Sanyinak, a cseh Pavel Kelemennel került össze, aki 0,037 másodperccel megverte őt és így a magyar sprinter búcsúzni kényszerült összesítésben a 21. helyet megszerezve.
Lovassy Krisztián az omniumban állt rajthoz ugyanezen a napon. Krisztiánt kísértette a 22-es szám ezen a világbajnokságon, csütörtökön scratchben 22-es rajtszámmal a 22. helyen ért célba és most omniumban is 22-es rajtszámmal 22. lett a scratchben, a tempoban és a kiesés versenyben is, egyedül a pontverseny 23. helye lóg ki a sorból, mellyel végösszesítésben a 23. lett.
A szombati nappal lezárult a magyar versenyzők számára a lengyelországi pályakerékpáros világbajnokság.
A mountainbike maratonok egyik fénypontja a július 12-14. között Bad Goisernben megrendezésre kerülő Salzkammergut Trophy, ahol több mint 5.000 kerékpáros, több mint 40 országból vesz részt a megmérettetésen. A mountainbike maraton fő versenyszámai szombaton kerülnek megrendezésre. A kerékpáros sport szerelmesei Salzkammergut képeskönyvbe illő tájain keresztül haladva, hét különböző távon mérhetik össze erejüket.

22, 37, 53, 74 és 119 km-es távokra, vagy akár a nagyobb technikai tudást igénylő, 55 km hosszú, Bad Ischl-ből induló „All-Mountain“ versenyre is jelentkezhetsz. Természetesen a legkeményebb kerékpárosok választhatják a már legendává vált extrém távot is. A hírhedt extrém szakasz résztvevői már hajnali 5 óra előtt rajthoz állnak Bad Goisern főterén, a „Marktplatzon”, hogy teljesítsék a 210 km-es távot.
Minden érdeklődő kerékpárost szeretettel várnak a rendezők a május 25-26-án megrendezésre kerülő pályabejárásra.
Vasárnap 9 órakor külön csoportok indulnak a „D“, „E“ illetve a „G“ táv bejárásával.
